this is very similar to the question I asked for the Delta IV, but why is the SLS sometimes [mainly in older drawings or renderings] shown having black and white stripes similar to the Saturn V?, like I'm assuming its a similar case to the Delta IV in which someone probably just wasn't informed on the change, but was SLS originally designed to have stripes similar to the Saturn V or is this another case like the Delta IV where someone just didn't get the memo?.

It was likely drawn that way to look similar to the "other" lunar rocket, the ones in the Saturn rocket family. That would be most likely answer, no?

If you want to really dig deep into this question, I would find out more about the Saturn V. Did the SV have insulation foam on the outside of the fuel tanks (by the amount of ice you see breaking off it during launch I'd guess no). If yes; was that foam painted over with white paint or was white the natural color of the foam? If the answer is no: then why didn't the bother to do that step?

Whatever the answers to those questions are, it's likely an assumption was made that SLS would be constructed in a similar way.
