Fusion Space is targeting April 18th at 21:00 BST for the launch of the Proxima 1.2 to Luna onboard F2RE from Pad 01B at the National Space Center.
This will be the third flight for this first stage (B2008) which previously launched LunaRock-1 and MachCloud M1. The first stage will be recovered at our LZ-1 site. The first stage has also been coated in a new TPS paint which should not darken during atmospheric re-entry, helping to protect our vehicles and improve reusability.
To increase performance for this flight, the second stage will be equipped with an expanding nozzle. This will allow us to properly dispose of the second stage in the atmosphere after it orbits around Luna.

Proxima 1.2 is part of a series of missions designed to test the ProximaX spacecraft, which is built by MachX Industries. It is a mash-up between two different spacecraft, including hardware which will enable Luna landing capability for MachX Industries in the future. The spacecraft will be the heaviest payload ever sent to Luna, weighing around 18.2 tons
Proxima 1.2 will be sent on a TLI which will bring it as close as 1000km from the surface of Luna.
