So I got SR 2 two days ago, and I got SP 1.6 years ago. Pretty big difference. I made this account some time ago, but I’m on mobile only so I hadn’t got the game. With that I’m pretty used to SP. I like SP as one of my favorite games now but now I got SR 2. And so far, well, I really like it. Like I REALLY like it. I will tell you MY opinion of this game compared to SP on my device, mobile.
Disclaimer: This post is about my opinion and therefore is not forcing it to be yours, this my opinion and please do not take offense or think I am critiquing anything. Thank you!
SR 2 Vs. SP building:
-I’ll have to admit, it isn’t the easiest to build in SP. It can take long adjusting fuselage sizes, you have to be able to XML mod to resize engines, etc. In SP2 though, building opens much greater opportunity to scaling, different engines, propulsion devices, etc., and it allows mobile players to resize objects that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to in SP. Not just that, but making it so that you can change sizes of fuel tanks(Fuselages in SP) like you can with wings in SP makes it faster, easier, and just more enjoyable to build. But instead of just limiting you to that, you also have the choice to build old fashion way with the exact dimension-scaling or whatever it’s called, editing, like in SP. So if you want more exact dimensions of parts, you can use that.
-Mirroring, and multiplying parts in SR2 is much easier too. In SP you have the choice of mirroring only. In SR2 though, you can mirror by 1,2,3,4,5, and even 6! Maybe for only SR2 users that may seem not that exciting but for me, it is really cool because if you want something to be mirrored more than once, you finally can.
-I like how the parts automatically adapt to its surrounding parts. Like if one side of a fuel tank is bigger than the other and is therefore slanted, I like how if you place a fuel tank on the side it is already slanted too. In SP you would have to manually change the angle of the part taking much longer to build.
-Everyone loves texture. It’s what makes builds look good. It’s why posts are interesting and more realistic. It’s not like you are gonna have a rocket that is white and is completely smooth. I mean there is some but it doesn’t look as good as one with texture. So what I’m saying is that I like the paint system, I like how you are able to customize the look, the texture, the smoothness, the metallic was, and the detail more. In SP though, we only had gloss, semi-gloss and flat. Which you do have some customization, but not like SR2.
-Some other things I like that aren’t in SP include the picture taker thing, more quality settings and the ability to change the quality and settings (on mobile) from the building screen and in game too, I like the more flexible time speeding up, I like the dummies in the parts because in SP you can’t get them unless you add them in sub-assemblies from someone else, I like the electric motor that continually rotates parts, that’s helpful. I like how there are cargo bays cause in SP you had to manually make them, and I like the way you can easily move parts into other parts.
-Also I just really like the overall graphics and performance of the game. Can’t forget that!
-The HUGE maps also add a lot of excitement and importance to the game.
SP vs. SR2
-Something that I like in SP that I would never want to be taken away are the weapons. Ya, that’s one of the coolest aspects of the game, besides the freedom of building and stuff, are the bombs, missiles, and guns, in my opinion. Honestly, I kinda am upset that SR2 will never have weapons, mainly because the fact that you aren’t only limited to building rockets and exploring space. You can build jets, jet fighters, missiles, tactical missile satellite weapons (Something that I may or may not be posting soon), alien defenses, because I mean who knows what UFOs you might fight on mars. But seriously, weapons have a lot of potential in SR2 and I would be very grateful if they are added in the future. Please.
-I like the more civilian props and engines, including car engines, from SP that have been used to create twin props, any modern civilian airplane basically, and cars with the car engines. I mean you define rely don’t need car engines to build cars in SR2 but it would be more realistic using car engines to power cars.
-One Of The more recently added parts, I like the pullies (I forgot what they are called, sorry). They are pretty cool, although they aren’t used that much. I use them kind of a lot on builds I don’t post but I think they are pretty cool. Another thing I like is the helicopter blades. They aren’t in SR2 either.
-More things I like in SP include the lights. Of course the lights are really important because they are really coo and you can do many things with them, like make “movies”, cause I saw one before made out of blinking lights. You make TV screens: you can make things glow, obviously. Although I have a feeling they will be added with more flexibility in SR2 they haven’t yet been added so they will stay in the SP part of this.
-I almost forgot about spheres and semi-spheres. They aren’t that cool but they can be useful sometimes. I just wanted to throw that out there.
Remember, this is my opinion. But do you agree? You don’t have to. Please don’t argue about anything.
But anyways thank you for reading this and I hope you have a great day!!
Ya I feel like when I click on part of it it doesn’t work and I have to press undo. It’s cool though eight the multiply and stuff. @aircraftarsenal123
