Hey everyone! It's been a long time since Stepping Stone was announced, and there's been a lot of work going on. Release is still on target for next month, so get ready!
ESS 2.0 [Stepping Stone]
The main thrust of this patch is to lay the groundwork for really big projects in ESS 3.0 onward. We chose the name, Stepping Stone, to reflect this and to draw attention to the smaller (often overlooked) bodies which are the most numerous type of object in our solar system. This patch we are trialling two such moons, Exoo and Ilithos. This pair will be orbiting Cylero in 2.0, within easy reach of a powerful launcher.
Meanwhile, further work has been continuing on the Tydonian system, with Hados, Arcos and Frigios all getting some attention. Arcos and Hados have changed the most, bringing players even more detail and realism. Frigios has had colour tweaks and a bug fix or two, to keep ESS at a high standard.
Pedro has been working very hard at a Droo overhaul, and a lot of progress has been made in this area, Not only have the colours been edited to increase realism, the terrain and continents have also been altered. Now there are highly detailed sand dunes, ice flats, salt plains and mountain ranges for you to explore--without even leaving the atmosphere! From space the new colours make Droo a breathtaking sight, so get your camera ready!
