This game has a huge potential to be the most successful in its genre. Will the fact that its made for mobile limit a lot of its potential? Or will the PC and the Mobile version differ significantly? I worry about if limiting the game so it can perform on mobile will neuter its ability to compete.
An honest, simple question. Possible prevention/hindrance on the full development of the game?

@mjdfx150529 I'm not sure that could be a valid tactic. It can be possible if SR2 aims totally different market than KSP, like mobile, there are many options. If it want to be the competitor of KSP, it can never be without mods. Modding scene is the biggest asset of SQUAD and it's the only thing players keep playing it. If Jundroo is not that willing to incorporate them, that's just an astronomical waste of potential.

@AnotherFireFox Jundroo is not that willing to incorporate mods into their games, so it would have a different development strategy than Squad.

@mjdfx150529 and SQUAD was basically one person...backed by modding community?

@AnotherFireFox you do have to realize that Jundroo has only five people

So my question is: Can we expect this game would grow up to what we have in KSP with RO/RSS modpack? 300+ celestial bodies with non-patched conic gravity or interstellar travel?

@NathanMikeska What if the feature changes not only look & feel but game mechanics? For example, complicated life support system with full recycling process, in situ resource utilization or even N body simulated gravity rather than patched conics?

@Jetspeed1001 I apologize for the misunderstanding and the lack of knowledge on the matter since I didn't know there was a Simpleplanes for the mobile. I'm totally new here hence the stupid questions and worries :P

Thank you @NathanMikeska for taking the time to answer my question and to clarify the developer's commitment to the PC platform! I wish you and the rest of the Dev Team great success from this title. Plus, I would like to congratulate all of the team on the amazing launch followed by tons of positive reviews on steam.

@Jetspeed1001 By SP you mean the first Simplerockets correct? Well, I'm sure that the transition from 2D to 3D, for example, had a huge increase in complexity within the game. Will the mobile prevent some of the better, game-changing updates when and if it compromises the stability of the game in mobile platform? Or will the mobile be a little simpler version, enabling the PC version to reach a higher and better final state?

Don't worry, we are fully committed to making a great PC game. The only impact our goal of a mobile release has had thus far (in my opinion) is that we have a very keen eye focused on performance throughout the development processes.
We strive for good performance wherever we can. When we implement features that can have a significant impact on performance, we try to have options to disable them or scale them back such that they can run on lesser devices. We don't hold back on really juicy effects or performance heavy features, we just try to make them optional. Try playing the game on low quality settings vs high. Its a very different experience.

@AnotherFireFox there will be mods, they just simply won't be very often added to the stock game
