I was using a downloaded rocket from the crafts page and started it on Luna. When I was deciding what to do with it I decided, just for fun, to the topmost fuel tank because I wanted to witness a spectacular explosion. After doing so, to my amusement, I was instantly accelerated to nearly 15,000 m/s with my orbit stretching well outside the grasp of the solar system. I don't want people to think I am advertising for the spacecraft with some clickbait like title, so I won't be listing the spacecraft I used.

And with that, I challenge someone to replicate these results. For point of reference, the spacecraft that propelled me to this speed instantly had a delta-v over 20,000, and a wet mass of over 200,000 kg.

@Caveman999, to be honest, I don't know how much of this was a bug. the rocket I used was massive, and maybe (I'm just guessing here. I have no idea) the game didn't have enough time to determine that the command pod should have exploded with the rest of the spacecraft. bare in mind that I was accelerated to 15,000 m/s instantly. also, thanks for the info on adding pictures to posts.
