Found a discussion about SR2, people just was saying that this is a clone of KSP, it's ugly, it's poor and should burn in green flames. Hey, this isn't a clone of KSP! You can say that HL is a clone of Doom with the same success! The graphics are cool, despite these dumb humans. There is not a lot of parts, but it released slightly more than a month ago! KSP after one month was still a unplayable piece of defecation product. What they can say if they struggled at playing these two godlike games? The SR2 and KSP are totally different, there is a difference even at building process! And despite low part amount, the amount of variants are infinite. It's around one infinity more parts than KSP with all mods installed has!

@racerx They will not implement multiplayer and there is a very good reason for it the physics cannot be perfectly synchronized which is why games like Simple Planes, KSP, Goat Simulator, etc. do not have multiplayer it just doesn't work on physics games.

@JetFly meh thats true but that is not enough of a reason to buy it. Im looking at their roadmap for future development and not a single thing is mentioned about multiplayer EVEN THOUGH its one of the MOST requested features. They have no plans for doing multiplayer and it needs to be implemented early in development not late in development...so with that said im out. Moderator delete my account please. Taking my money and spending it on something else bye!

But can ksp do procedural things without mods?@racerx
even with mods, they are really buggy and rough -

having played KSP since 2011 i wanted this game to offer something different. So far i dont really see anything that this game can do that KSP cant do. I am holding out on buying the game hoping that this will change. Multiplayer being at the top of my list. I am into realism. I dont care who calls this game a rip off. And even then if it was so what! Me personally I am hoping this game and its developers go where KSP did not rip off or not i dont care. call it what you want. I ONLY care about the results

@AstronautPlanes Actually the KSP Swivel engine is modeled on the engine used in Atlas II rockets while SR2 Mage engine is modeled on Falcon rockets.

I love both KSP and SimpleRockets 2 for different reasons, KSP for its cute green fellas plus part details making it feel more realistic, and SR2 for the design freedom it gives. Also, having played all of SimplePlanes, KSP and SR2, SR2 feels more like SimplePlanes with rocket engines than KSP.

@NerdsGalore
Going after another game's community is not civil. Even though yes, criticism can cause people to get mad for all the wrong reasons, don't you think that's what's happening here? People not liking the feedback and taking it as far as to make forum posts about it? You don't need to complain about other people calling SR a KSP ripoff. Would you make a forum post complaining about it?
I.
Think.
Not. -

@Mostly however, as this community has shown, most discussion here is civil. This entire thread is civil discussion. We shouldn't discourage different opinions just because some people might make it go sour.

I will say, the droo graphics aren't exactly as good looking as SP's, but I understand it's an early game and the space graphics look cool. Explosions aren't as... firey as I think they should be tho.

@AstronautPlanes KSP runs on Windows XP x32 with Pentium 4 and Radeon 9600 Pro with(almost) no lag. Version I play is 0.90, but you can get 1.05 and higher

I need to agree that it copies some things from KSP, like the dynamic model, or the engines (the Mage engine is similar to the "Swivel" engine from KSP), also the idea of get to space with your rockets, and that it will have a career mode.
BUT, SR2 is still different from KSP because of...
-ALL the planets.
-The customizable parts.
-The A.K.A "NavSphere"
-The 5 persons working on this in comparision to the KSP's 100 ish.
-The graphics and storage requierements. -

@NerdsGalore That's like someone saying this game is stupid and then other people shoot back with other insults directed to them personally or to their community. That would be a horrible way of thinking. We shouldn't retaliate to their criticism like this. It makes the community, and the game, look bad. If not worse.

@Mostly that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to express counter opinions.

@5thHorseman for me hl is more of doom than quake, because in doom there was monsters!
I don't know what to fear about if you show vessel chars to the player. Maybe KSP devs just can't calculate stage dV?
Idk, i think this wheel is good. Didn't played it really, but I think it's handy. But having a navball (which does not exist irl, so it will be a ripoff, there are only artificial horizon which even doesn't have 360 degrees in pitch) is good. Maybe really get just an artificial horizon into the game? I hope mod support will solve this problem. -
People did say HL was a clone of Doom. Or Quake actually but you get the point. And Saints Row was a clone of GTA. Etc etc etc.
There are similarities between this and KSP. Denying them won't get you anywhere. The similarities are why I'm here, if this was a baseball game I'd not have even given it a look. :D
It's in the differences where these kinds of games (the second iterations on a theme) shine and so far, SimpleRockets2's differences are pretty shiny. I'm a fan of the proceduralness and the lack of fear of showing the player information about the craft. I don't like the big control wheel and hope some day we'll get something more akin to a navball, but you take the good with the bad.
@JetFly Yes but they are mostly broken and besides it wouldn't work because time warp would be an issue it would either have to be real time or you would have to agree when to warp some games are just best kept single player and if you want it so badly just wait for someone to mod it in.
