Umbilical Cords and Cryogenic Fluids Vapors

I have suggested these two things before- pre-liftoff flexible umbilical cords and cryogenic fluids vapors. I've been working on using struts and hinges to make a facsimile of umbilical cords. It's time consuming to get the hinge orientation and angles that look like a flexible cord dropping away from a rocket. By doing this, I've realized that it would probably require a lot of time and graphics power to make these as part of a mod or the stock parts list. Cryogenic vapors streaming from the ice coated side of a rocket before liftoff would look amazing but again would probably cost a lot in graphics and animation. The ice would need to flake off during ascent and the vapor stream would need to stop at or before liftoff, creating a timing issue. Maybe someone with much more software knowledge than me might be able to figure these problems out. These aren't necessary from SR-2 to operate but they would look good.
