The docking port has been scaled up 250%. Does that have anything to do with it? The magnets don't seem to work either, or it is very weak. Please help, thanks!

yeah i tinkered some to 200% and the magnets are super strong but wont dock. there should be size slider instead of just the scale in tinker panel.
@zeropol hmm. So I'm guessing when you scale up the port, the magnet strength doesn't scale up to match. I did manage to dock it though, it took like 3 minutes on 6x fast forward. Usually I just touch the docking ports together and they instantly click. Weird stuff, hope it gets fixed someday.
On Luna surface, I tested with 250% scaled up docking ports and only managed to have 70% docking. (without gravity to help, it would be probably impossible in space to dock with 250% scaled up docking ports)
I think the "docking node" is blocked by the docking port itself because of scaling.
like you it was sufficiently aligned
@xeus If previous dockings in this game were easier then it might be a glitch. But yea normally it is difficult to get docking ports to connect. (At least in my experience)
I really want them to make it easier for them to connect :/
@RealDavidB ah I thought I did something wrong, first time encointering this issue. My space station dockings usually go without a hitch. Is it supposed to be like this? It'd go a long way if docking went faster.
Yea, docking in this game is painfully difficult because it takes so long to get docking ports to connect.
(I'm assuming that's what the reason is anyway)
I recently learned that using the first time warp helps to dock way faster. Also make sure your docking post does not have collisions turned off which I also learned the hard way will prevent you from docking
