I was thinking that maybe Jundroo should add a setting where the orbits of all celestial bodies get "Anchored" in their current position, meaning that they will stay in that exact location until the setting is disabled. The day/night cycles of the planets will still be determined by their rotation. all celestial bodies will have a "gravity well" where once exited, the gravitational pull of a planet will have no effect on the player craft, I believe the gravity well's "Border" should be ~1-2km above the atmosphere, that way there's a sweet spot in case people want to use traditional orbital mechanics for whatever reason while still having the benefits of the anchor. (if that makes sense).
upon a player craft exiting the gravity well, the craft will keep it's current velocity and will be moving at a constant speed (should the player kill the engines before exiting the gravity well) unless the player slows down the craft to their desired speed or to a halt. I believe the addition of this feature will open many doors for people who just want to explore without all the extra factors such as speed, trajectory, ?v, etc etc. this may also help people who like doing SR2 movies and such.
(I hope I've explained this clearly)

Seems like an interesting dynamic.
