Sometimes, those pesky atmospheres can be a pain, especially if you don't have a good heat shield.
The planets in this system have no atmospheres, and are small, so landing is much easier.
The only exception is a gas giant, which you probably shouldn't land on anyway.

Why? Without an atmosphere, you cannot fly aircraft that use jet engines.
