The Thor-Delta was a space launch vehicle operated by the US Air Force from 1958-1960. It was derived from the Thor-Able, which was derived from the Thor IRBM. The Thor booster used one Rocketdyne LR-79 engine. The Delta upper stage was mounted on top of the Thor booster. The Thor-Delta also developed into many space launch vehicles, such as the Delta II.
