Introduction
IST-8 Pressure Testing The IST-8 is an inflatable space station module designed for long-duration habitation in space. Its pressure testing phase is critical to ensure the module’s structural integrity and safety in an environment of sustained pressure. This testing will validate its readiness for use, confirming that the inflatable technology can withstand the harsh conditions of space while supporting crew and operational needs.
Technical Details
-Duration: The main Pressure Testing Lasted for 17 minutes and 35 seconds after which the maximum pressure the prototype could hold was tested.
-Max Pressure: While the module is meant to Operate at 1 bar and needs to withstand a minimum of 3.2 Bars during testing however the Prototype withstood an impressive 4.7 Bar!
