In 2042, after so many trials and tests and perfections, the UK, by now the world leading space nation, had its first succesfull launch of the Iris-Vergo I. They took a standard Iris booster from the production line, and added the Vergo upper stage, as used in Mars III. Then a whole E3 was added on top, and a fairing to top it off. The E3 booster, when already in orbit, was capable of accelerating to a massive 54.5% of the speed of light on test XIV. Reducing transfer time to Mars to 1 month, 13 days (at optimum launch point). Jupiter clocking in at 5 months, 27 days. Saturn is 1 year, 0 months and 3 days. And both the outer gas giants varied between 3 and 4 years and 5 and 6 years respectivley. Proxima Centuri missions where planned in 2054, but thats all to come…
