This rocket is as close as I've been able to get so far to making rockship Luna from the 1950 movie "Destination Moon". It's a tail sitter so it doesn't need a launch pad. Luna was a nuclear powered rocket that used water as its fuel. Essentially it was a complex steam engine. That's why I think it would be cool to include nuclear propulsion in SR-2. Just send Luna on a direct ascent to to the moon and land her on her tail fins.

That's what they called the rocket ship in the movie. As always with movies of that time period, they had the ubiquitous crew member from Brooklyn. This movie was based upon a story by Robert Heinlein called "Rocket Ship Galileo". It's one of my favorite movies.
