This might look similar to my old offroader, but I’ve spent a lot of time upgrading it, including custom MFDs, drive-by-wire, and new suspension. Try it out, it’s fun to drive! Also please read all the directions.
OFFROADER 2.0 Features & Upgrades
OFFROADER is designed to travel long distances over varied terrain on different planets. It can go up to 250kph (where terrain allows, probably start with ~50kph), and torque control and stabilization help navigate rough terrain. It has room for 7 astronauts, and is very fun to drive around in the desert :)
Upgrades:
- Custom drive/nav/planet info MFD screen
- Custom AG button control screen
- Drive by wire system: dynamic turning and torque control
- Gyro stabilization (helps you not flip over)
- New suspension
- Folding door/ramp
Instructions/Tips
Keyboard is recommended, although joysticks + brake also work.
- Throttle (controls speed): ws (translate forward) can control throttle
- Turn: ad (or maybe qe) (translate right)
- Stop: Brake, or put the car in park by deactivating AG1
Use driver cam for first person view
- Don’t take control of the astronaut to drive, the program won’t work right
- Use c/v to quickly switch between cameras
All AGs are labeled and can be controlled via MFD or normally, but here’s some important ones:
- 1: ON for drive, OFF for park
- 2: ON for reverse, AG1 must also be on
- 7: Open/close back door
- 8: Gyro stabilization (more info below)
Other Tips/Notes
- The top speed is 250kph, but this really isn’t recommended unless it’s REALLY flat
- Stabilization can be turned off if it’s annoying, because it uses pitch and bank angle it sometimes does weird thing on really steep terrain
I had a lot of fun making and photographing this, if you try it lmk how it works!

It starts at 0.4 because its just finding the distance between the ground where you started and where you are. I will double check, but it should only reset when you click/tap it, and it’s always worked fine for me. @SpicySpace

Love this, but your “trip distance” program always starts at 0.4m and always “resets” to .4m Please fix this. Thanks

I’m considering it if I make another car. Even cooler would be auto navigation (choose best route around mountains/craters), but I’m not sure how I would do that. @HoverAerospace

This is the only really panelled thing I’ve made. I just lined up the outside edges as best as I could and used a lot of mirroring. You can make grid size 0.01 or even 0 to change the width really small amounts. Also I think Hermes suggested using rounded struts, so maybe try that? @Jerba

Hey, quick question, do you have any tips on paneling so that the edges of 2 separate pieces don’t stick out through each other? I’m trying to panel something but keep having this issue with it because of the nature of it.

I would give an upvote but I was limited sorry. I find the concept amazing and I will think of your concept, when realising my ATV for Brigo, thank you
