Centaur Class Battleship

The Centaur is the most powerful ship in the Droo Space Navy, and only a handful have ever been constructed. Based on the Normandy Battlecruiser hull with four additional VLS packs, eight additional PDS cannons, and four additional missile pods, the Centaur is the hardest hitting combat asset in any theatre. The heavy capital ship also boasts forward facing railgun cannons for fire support and orbital bombardment. Firing a 250 kg Tungsten slug, railgun cannon rounds are difficult to intercept with traditional PDS systems, and require huge amounts of power to operate. The additional thermal load is handled with a forward radiator array. Seen above escorting an infantry assault task force, the Centaur is the core of an entire assault or defense fleet.
The program has managed to avoid cancellation after a series of narrow victories against the DPRD. The Drootian public is willing to endure the cost of construction and maintenance, in order to maintain space superiority.
