The Vanguard Mk 4 is the heavy lift variant of the Vanguard Class Launch Vehicles. It has an extended booster fuel tank, 2 SRBs, and a two engine 2nd stage to handle larger and heavier payloads than the Vanguard Mk 3.
The Cargo Fairing of the Vanguard Mk 4 has also been extended, and hs 34 cubic meters of volumetric cargo capacity. The Vanguard Mk 4 also has a 10 ton mass cargo capacity, capable of carrying a payload to an orbit as high as 500km.
The recoverable booster stage saves $1,600,000 on the total cost for the Launch Vehicle.
