    I would also try reducing the use of mass scale on the wings, especially avoid using 0%. My understanding is this causes problems in the physics engine.

    Actually it looks like there aren't as many wing segments as I thought. But I would still try reducing the complexity as much as possible. I forgot to mention, the electric motors were turning backwards producing negative lift, so the first thing I did was invert both motors, and that allowed me to lift of the ground on Droo at 1/4 speed without things exploding.

    I think the complexity of these wings is simply overwhelming the physics engine. When I run this a 1/4 speed with no FPS spike reduction it flies ok. If I try to set time to normal speed it tends to go haywire. All the part connections, electric motor settings, and part alignment looks good. I would try simplifying the actual wing parts (i.e. try to use just 2 or 3 wing parts per blade).
