Boeing B17G Flying Fortress
Top Speed: 278mph
Cruise Speed: about 200mph
Rate of Climb: about 1,000 ft/min
Service Ceiling: 25,000ft (about 7,500m in game)
Payload: 6x 1,000lb General Purpose bombs
- All gunner positions controlled by Translate Up/Right and can be turned off/on
- Slider 1 controlled flaps Warning: the flaps work well and deploying them too fast will cause the nose to pitch up
- Slider 2 controlled elevator trim. Negative trim can greatly help compensate for the nose climbing while using flaps.
- This airplanes flies great once trimmed
- There’s an engine startup sequence. If you wish to bypass it, either delete it through the program (will cause you to lose MPH readout) or set the first stage as the engines and just activate the stage.
- Note: this is a 75 year old Heavy Strategic Bomber and it flies like it. Barrel-rolls not recommended.
- The interior is relatively unfinished because my phone can’t handle anymore complexity. If you wish to finish the interior, be my guest. Just cheat and set mass to “0” as the aircraft is currently at its accurate takeoff weight.
- If someone can figure out the settings needed to get the autocorrect to work correctly, please drop them down below!
- Enjoy!

Well I for one am blown away by your masterpiece. It’s beautiful! in order to squeeze the last bit of performance out of my mid-2011 iMac, I normally have my craft quality settings with textures disabled but realtime reflections on. But to see the real beauty of your B-17G, craft textures most definitely need to be enabled and at the very least set to "low". I ended up my craft set to "low" with reflections to "static" and performance is totally acceptable.
The B-17 has a special place in my heart. In particular, the “Wee Willie”… it’s loss weeks before V-E day was captured on film in one of the most iconic photos taken of a B-17 going down. (Do an image search on “wee willie b-17” to see the photos.) It’s a bit sobering when you realize there were 10 men onboard. I was lucky enough to take a flight on the CAF’s B-17 “Texas Raiders” two years ago, in the waist gunner position. It was an experience I’ll never forget.
Thank you for your hard work on this plane!

@Loganswar425 I built it on mobile. It crashes every once in a while but for the most part it should be ok to run on your phone
