MiG-205 Hurricane

The MiG-205 Hurricane is a fictional successor to the highly secret MiG-105 and Spiral two-staged spaceplane launch system. The Spiral hypersonic launch platform would accelerate the MiG-105 lifting body and its rocket booster up to Mach 6 and release. The booster would then push the MiG-105 the rest of the way into orbit. Propellant onboard the MiG-105 spaceplane would be primarily reserved for circularization, orbital maneuvers, and deorbit.

The MiG-205 vehicle is single staged and is outfitted with four zero-bypass turbojets and three kerolox rockets, two for steering and one for thrust. Like the MiG-105, the MiG-205 features movable wingtips, +50 deg to -50 deg, for changing flight conditions. Flaps can also be used for takeoff/landing.

Takeoff and landing configuration is flaps 100% (slider 2). If you are having trouble rotating, angle the wingtips 50 deg up or down (slider 1). This will reduce tail lift and allow easier rotation, however, for longer runways, this is not needed. Ascent configuration is wingtips -50 deg (slider 1 = -100%). Reentry configuration is wingtips +50 deg (slider 1 = +100%)

Saving 1000 kg - 2000 kg of jet fuel is recommended for return to space center and landing.

The rockets can have a tendency to induce dutch roll! If this happens, reduce roll and yaw input. Allow the autopilot time to dampen out the oscillations! If the oscillation becomes too extreme, use the RCS thruster.
