Each craft has its own command chip/pod, and controlled seperately - both planes and the rocket lander can return to the ground.
Launch plane Activation groups
"wing angle s1" - slider 1, -100(swept back) to 100 (foreward)
"trim s2" - slider 2, -100 to 100
"flaps s2" - slider 2, -100(most lift/takeoff) to 100
"spotlights" and "landing gear" - on or off
It needs the flaps to get off the ground around 100m/s, then turn off and activate trim. It climbs fast, adjust angle so the speed is increasing as its climbing. when it starts to level out(around 14,000m), slowly adjust the wing angle foreward and it should end up around 85 at 25,000m. at this altitude, activate the flaps again - sliding it towards -100 will give it some extra lift, and start pitching it up(30,000m at 30 degrees pitch worked best, so far)...ready for rocket release interstage.
"take control" of the released rocket, activate engines, and lock heading at 35 degrees. The launch plane can be landed with some strategic switching of command chips now. Once the apoapsis is above 70,000, turn off the engines, burn like a regular orbit, and eject the fairing after it leaves the atmosphere.
Rocket activation groups
"prograde engines" - on/off with indicator lights near rear
"retorograde engines" - on/off with indicator lights near front
both engines will activate with staging, and use the same fuel tank, toggle the activation group on, then off to deactivate either one.
"drone arm" - slider 1 extends to 100
"cargo bay" - open/close and warning lights
Once the rocket is in a low orbit, use the retrograde engines(keep heading prograde) to set up the re-entry path for the drone. After the burn, open the cargo bay, extend the arm, and release the drone(arm facing down, level as possible). Next switch back to prograde engines, and burn back into orbit. the command pod can be released later and parachute land with legs, or drop the last tank and land in water.
Drone activation groups
"swing wing s1" - slider 1, 0-100 adjust wing angle
"trim s2" - slider 2 , -100 to 100 for level flight
"lights" and "landing gear" - on/off
The drone has no controls in vacuum, entry path is set after release, until it hits the atmoshere. Use yaw and pitch to control re-entry, until it slows down below 1000m/s, then swing wings out slowly, stage on the jet engine, and fly.
the launch plane, command pod, and drone plane can all be safely landed back on Droo, in different places...if you swtch controls at the right times.
