Do you ever want to focus on larger missions without the mundane hassle of getting to orbit, just to test something out?
This single-button-to-orbit is an easy to understand gravity turn flight program that can be used on any of your rockets.
Slap this on any rocket, press your activation group, and get to orbit.
If that's all you want, read no further!
If you want to understand how it works, and how to make the most of it, read on:
It goes without saying, your rocket needs to have reasonable TWR and stages to achieve orbit. This example rocket was designed to cost-efficiently deliver 11 comsats into high orbit at any inclination.
In the script, the pre-set target orbit is 100x90km. You can tweak these numbers, and the comments explain how it all works.
It works by adapting your pitch based on your current Apoapsis, so it should not turn too fast or too slow. Therefore it should be flexible for any rockets, and you can also set your heading to whatever you want before takeoff, for non-equitorial inclinations.
Save it as a flight program and reuse it on other rockets!
Don't assign an activation group directly to your command pod or other items to trigger it. You'll inadvertently shut off your gyro or whatever part it is. Instead, just give your activation group a name and set the correct number in the script and you'll be good.
