Ariane 4 is an European launch vehicle, a member of the Ariane family, and the last rocket to base heavily upon the Ariane 1's design, the most notable differences being an extended first stage and an ability to carry various strap-on booster configurations. At its peak, it held over 50% of the global satellite launch market. Flying from 1990 to 2003, it was replaced by the larger, more powerful and environmentally cleaner Ariane 5.

CONFIGURATIONS
As mentioned before, this rocket was able to carry many different booster configurations, mainly different combinations of the solid PAP and liquid hypergolic PAL strap-on boosters. To identify the configuration look at the name - it follows the scheme 'Ariane 4X-YY', where X denominates the number of boosters, and y shows the type. So for example, Ariane 42P is an Ariane rocket with two solid boosters. An Ariane 44LP is an Ariane with two liquid and two solid boosters.

INSTRUCTIONS
When you download the craft, you will get your rocket in an Ariane 44LP configuration (like the one on the thumbnail). You can change simply by adding or removing the provided boosters

TIP
if you're flying with more than two boosters, i'd recommend toning down the first stage Viking 5C engines to 80%. That way, you will improve efficiency, and reduce aerodynamic heating on your way up.
