"New Horizon" is a NASA exploration program, the main purpose of which is to investigate objects in the Kuiper Belt such as Pluto and Pluto. "New Horizon" is the fastest man-made flying object in human history. It takes less than nine hours to fly over the moon and orbit the earth, and only 13 months to reach Jupiter's gravitational field. Now, "New Horizon" is advancing about 31,000 miles (49,900 kilometers) per hour, and it is about 1.527 billion miles (2.457 billion kilometers) away from the earth. The New Horizon exploration project cost about $700 million. Scientists believe that studying Pluto will help deepen our understanding of the formation of the solar system. New Horizon is scheduled to reach Pluto in mid-2015, with a journey of 4.8 billion kilometers. Its mission also includes studying Pluto's main satellite Phobos and two newly discovered Pluto satellites. The New Horizon probe will then enter the Kuiper Belt outside Pluto. The Kuiper Belt is located at the outer edge of the solar system, and it is considered to be composed of the leftover materials from the early formation of the solar system. The director of this exploration mission said that on December 29th, 2009, New Horizon crossed the landmark boundary line, and from then on it was closer to Pluto than to the Earth. "New Horizon" will continue to move forward. This spacecraft will be the first to fly over Pluto (once called a planet, now called a dwarf planet or plutoid) and fly to other celestial bodies lurking in the Kuiper Belt on the edge of the solar system. The fastest man-made aircraft in the world is the famous "New Horizon" detector. It will embark on a long journey with a voyage of about 5 billion kilometers and a time of 9.5 years. About 45 minutes after the launch, New Horizon was successfully separated from the launch vehicle. Its speed is as high as 58,000 km/h (about 16 km/s), which is the fastest spacecraft launched by human beings so far.
