A New Generation Rises A New Era

Like all rockets they will have a time where the focus is all on them. With this rocket taking 2 weeks to create, this was my most intensive rocket I worked on. First question you might have is why did the engine thrust go down. I did that on purpose, since decreasing the weight on the rocket using the Tinker Panel, it would mean that the rocket didn't need more thrust and fuel to get into orbit. Second question you might have is why is there only one engine on the second stage. This had to be changed due to me making the rocket lighter, it didn't need more power so I changed it with one engine instead.

Flight Plan

Preparation for Liftoff!!!

To prepare a Bravo 10 v3 rocket you will need to open the Activation Groups Tab, as well as Slider 1 and 2. Next step is to set both sliders to -100% and tap Activation Group 5 to lower and tuck in the fins. After that prepare for ignition and set the throttle gauge to 100%. Last thing you need to know, is let the engines burn for about a second and then press the Stage Button (Button Left Corner) this separate the rocket from the stand.

Lifting Off and Going to Space

Now that you have lifted off, it is now time to start doing your gravity turn. Here is the list of pitch changes you need to do:

  1. 1.5 km = 75*
  2. 5 km = 65*
  3. 10 km = 55*
  4. 15 km = 45*
  5. 20 km = 35*
  6. 25 km = 25*
  7. 30 = 15*

Then continue until fuel percentage is 16% and then cut the engine and then separate the stages.

Second Stage

Now that MECO (Main Engine Cutoff) has happened it’s now time to get that second stage into a sub-orbital orbit. What this means is that you have to create a crash course but it will give enough time to land the booster. So when you reach the of 100 km turn off the engine and then switch back to the first stage.

Landing Successful?

Flipping the Booster

Now that you have created a sub-orbital orbit. It is now time to land the booster. First thing you should do is before flipping the first stage is to turn anything off, if any of the Activation Tabs are on. After that turn on AG 2,3,4,5 and 8. After that turn off them off, only after shall you turn on on RCS and AG 5. Now flipping it, angle the pitch of the 15* facing the opposite of the rocket.

Re-entry Burn/Boost Back Burn

Now it is time to reduce the sub-orbit of the first so once the rocket has reached the 15*, turn on the main engine (AG4) and the two outer ones (AG3). Keep burning until you have 5% of fuel. ònce you reach 5% fuel press the Retrograde Circle.

Landing Go or No

At this time the rocket has been flipped and the Activation Tabs have been set to the right settings. Turn on the main and 2 outer engines at 10km. After that, turn off the 2 outer engines and then just use the center engine to perform the final landing maneuver. One more thing you should not forget is to deploy the landing gear (AG8). Finally, after a trip almost around the world you have landed the first stage.

Second Stage

Delivering the Payload

Now that everything has taken care of, it's now time to deliver the payload to orbit. Start by pitching the second stage to 5* and then let the second stage burn until you have created an orbit for the payload.

Activation Groups and Sliders:

  • AG 1 - Satellite Gear
  • AG 2 - 6 Outer Engine Burn
  • AG 3 - 2 Outer Engine Burn
  • AG 4 - Centre Engine Burn
  • AG 5 - All Fin Control
  • AG 6 - Fairing Separation
  • AG 8 - Landing Gear
  • AG 10 - RCS

  • Throttle Slider - Rocket Throttle

  • Slider 1 - Fin Control
  • Slider 2 - Fin Control
