Venus X was my most recent attempt at reaching Venus with a lander, because all my previous attempts failed to land after tumbling in the atmosphere. so i designed venus X

Venus X began its launch nominally, the vehicle launched from Pad 39A and flew through the atmosphere before Tumbling for around 40,000ft because of a minor design issue when i designed the heatsheild of this lander.

Venus X continued and got to about 1,000ft before many attempts at deploying the chute to no avail. the vehicle tumbled for a short while but i seperated the impactor and managed to slow the vehicle down enough for it to safely fly. the impactor's chute wierdly enough failed (probably because i didnt set its size very well) and the impactor really lived up to its name. but once Venus X landed safely on the surface, and somehow upright, the impactor came to rest around 15ft away on a hillside. i would not have likely realised it was still intact had i not done a 120 view of the surface with the onboard camera mast.

the mission while it failed in some ways was still largely a success. however i will not be launching another any time soon.

but if you guys want to take on the challenge in RSS. by all means, go for it. it will either be really fun, or stress you out. 50/50 chance never sounded so bad XD.
