There already exist some, there will be many more. Successful landing on the moon after two days of playing (yes I am late to the party)
Cheap... well it may not be cheap to use... It is cheap in the sense that there isn't even a proper moon lander and the landing legs are badly staged... yep...
Controls:
- go through the stages trying not to waste fuel to get to orbit (stage 3 should finish it off)
- leave orbit to go to the moon still on stage 3 (I recommend no less than 50-60% in the tank and a burn time of less than 2 mins)
- before landing detach from the empty stage 3 and activate the landing legs manually
- touchdown at less than 10 m/s
- get back to earth without wasting too much fuel
- activate the last stages for re-entry and parachutes
voila.
