Dhawan-1(named under Indian rocket scientist satish Dhawan)Technology demonstrator is India's first privately developed cryogenic engine Powered by Liquid natural gas which is 90% methane. It is developed by An Indian private space agency named skyroot aerospace. They are aiming to launch their first orbital rocket Vikram-1 in Q4 2022. Though Dhawan 1 is a technology demonstrator, it will not be used in any of their launch vehicles. A flight proven version of the Dhawan Engine will be used on their second orbital launch vehicle Vikram-2's upper stage.
