The XNR-24RC (Research Crew) is a plane built for multi-terrain landings and takeoffs. It was given big tires for landing on rough surfaces therefore researchers could go to more places and investigate the sight. It was nicknamed “Porcupine” for having lots of antennas. The XNR-24RC’s engines were placed above the wing to prevent any rocks or any other un anchored surroundings on the ground to be sucked into the jet engines.
