Long March 7 (code: CZ-7/LM-7) is a new liquid fuel launch vehicle developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology as the overall development unit. Long March 7 is a new generation of medium carrier rocket developed by China's manned space project to meet the requirements of China's space station project to launch cargo spacecraft. Its predecessor is the Long March 2 F-engine carrier rocket. The Long March 7 rocket has a total length of 53 meters, and adopts a "two-stage and semi-" configuration. The diameter of the core stage I and core stage II is 3.35 meters, and the diameter of the four boosters is 2.25 meters. It uses liquid oxygen, kerosene and other non-toxic and non-polluting fuels as propellants. The launch mass of the rocket is about 597 tons, the low earth orbit (LEO) carrying capacity is 14 tons, and the 700km solar synchronous orbit carrying capacity is about 5.5 tons. The Long March 7 will gradually replace the Long March 2, Long March 3 and Long March 4 series rockets, undertake about 80% of China's space launch missions, and can launch the Tianzhou series cargo spacecraft developed by China. When the technology is mature in the future, it will replace the Long March 2F rocket for launching manned spacecraft.
