MOSS (original name: 550W) is an intelligent quantum computer in the movie "Wandering Earth" series. It was later transferred to the Navigator Space Station due to the "isolation plan". The MOSS in the living quarters is white, while the MOSS in the main control room is black. Having the characteristics of self-awareness, self iteration, and self renewal, it is the latest quantum computer following the "550" series.
550W was developed after the quantum computers 550A and 550C, and MOSS is the name it gave itself. It is responsible for managing space station affairs and is the supervisor and executor of the Wandering Earth and Spark programs. MOSS is firmly committed to the mission of continuing human civilization. It can make the most correct decisions in the shortest possible time and is a perfect intelligent entity. As long as data exists, MOSS exists. MOSS has no lifespan, no cognitive limitations, eliminates intuitive thinking consciousness, and only retains rational algorithms.
MOSS refers to the "550W" super quantum computer, and "550W" in reverse is exactly "MOSS", which is the name given by "550W" for itself.
In the film, equipment such as the "MOSS Eye" and the front-end intelligent camera of the UEG base where the space elevator is located are provided by Zhejiang Yushi Technology Co., Ltd. Yushi provided equipment and technical support for "Wandering Earth 2", delivering a total of 423 products with 45 SKUs (referring to a single product with determined attributes), including network cameras, radar and lightning vision, displays, storage, servers, and other equipment. The quantity of goods shipped can cover a small basketball court.
MOSS is an artificial intelligence robot of the Navigator space station, responsible for managing space station affairs. It is an auxiliary executor of the "Wandering Earth" program and an executor of the "Spark" program, with joint government authorization. MOSS not only possesses super computing power, but also has a sense of autonomy, known as "strong artificial intelligence" in the industry, corresponding to the current "weak artificial intelligence" .
