after the mars race of 1994 the ussr began a program to colonize mars. with it's economy resurging after Gorbachev reforms the system, they put a modified and improved mars 94 rocket called mars 99 in mass production. this rocket was able to carry 4 permanent mars habitation modules.
rovers and the like were transported by the proton b rocket.
supplies were transported by the same mars 99 rocket but a different craft called Marsnoy snabzhennoy korabl...or MSK......which i will post soon.
