OB-3kX MLV

Dastares Aerospace

The OB-3kX (Object 3000 Xtra) is a medium-lift vehicle designed to be an efficient means of delivering payloads from Droo throughout the Juno system.

The OB-3kX incorporates a two-stage design with additional 4 SRBs for supporting a wide payload range that covers both commercial and government payloads. The first stage is powered by two staged-combustion engines fueled by RP-1 and LOX with another 4 SRBs all of which produce a total of 4,610kN of thrust at sea level. The second stage is powered by a single expander-cycle engine fueled by LH2 and LOX producing a thrust of 145kN at vacuum. All these thrust enables the rocket to lift a maximum of 22,500kg to a 250x250km polar orbit or 5000kg for a direct delivery to geosynchronous/geostationary orbit. The payloads are encapsulated in a 4m extended fairing that has a usable space of 3.9m in diameter and 7.77m in height inside.

Precautions:

1. Any object attached to the payload adapter will be considered as payload mass like a support structure used for multiple payloads will be considered a payload still because the Vizzy computes based only extra mass that is not part of the rocket.

2. The prompts you receive do not check for errors after you have entered them so make sure that you will enter the right value or else it will cause problems with the Vizzy which could stop the rocket from working properly. For all prompts, adding units or signs is unnecessary as the Vizzy program already calculates them for you.

3. Do not remove/add parts to the rocket itself and it's launch clamps. You can only add payloads attached to the payload adapter inside the fairing. This is because of the Vizzy calculating for the payload mass by subtracting the current mass of the entire craft from the known mass of the craft without any payloads inside. Adding or reducing parts will change the actual mass of the craft and will cause problems in determining the correct mass of the payload.

4. Do not interfere with the automation of the Vizzy program during flight. Let the rocket fly itself until the flight reaches "vacuum engine cutoff" where the Vizzy program ends.

5. The rocket contains a 5000kg mass simulator as the payload when you download it. Good for testing it's capability to GEO orbits.

On a more personal note, this is my first attempt at making an at least decent looking rocket in the game and it took me about a month in total to build and program everything and the end result is satisfactory enough for me. I took a very heavy inspiration from the Atlas V and it shows at almost everywhere on the rocket and I think it turned out great. And also a big thanks to everyone in the discord server and everyone in the community who has shown their support to this project, I really appreciate it. I think that is all and I've noticed that I'm not as good as I was at making craft post descriptions (how did I do those?) so apologies. I hope you enjoy my rocket and farewell, dominator!
