McDonald Douglas MC-68

In 1980 the United States gave the green light for a rescue operation named “Credible Sport” to save hostages in Iran, the plane was to modify a MC-130H with rockets to transform it into a STOL aircraft, when the plane was getting close to operational Iran accepted a deal with the United States to return the hostages. The modified C-130 was put to rest but not forgotten, a few years later a project named “credible sport ll” was started, but instead of going back to lockheed they decided to go to McDonald Douglas (in my story) which led to the creation of the STOL MC-68 which would be used for special operations and too resuply areas with a short runway or no runway at all.
