The Cylero M1 is designed for long range missions, including a habitation/science ring that spins for artificial gravity. If you’re adept at using burn nodes and docking, this mission can be a lot of fun. The lander is calibrated for easy docking in translation mode, especially when using the ‘craft docking camera’.
Luna launch is recommended for optimal fuel consumption in order to complete a round trip mission.
AG 1 - To release launch clamps
Stage 1 - To activate main engines (only usable stage, btw)
After launch and trajectory to Cylero is set:
AG 2 - To activate all working lights & Solar Panels
Slider up/down - To activate gravity spin
Once in Cylero orbit:
AG 3 - To release locking clamps
AG 4 - Deselect to un-dock lander from mothership (you can also select dock in ‘Flight View’ and undock that way)
Take control of ‘Command - Mars Descent craft’ pod (at top of lander)
AG 1 - Activates Descent craft engines and RCS nozzles (though parachutes can be used for Cylero landing, they are not necessary)
After completing the Cylero surface mission, dock with mother ship and retake control of ‘Command - Earth Return’ pod (white, on side of mid ship tank, just under spinning section).
Once in Earth orbit, I recommend a partial refuel of the lander before descending to Earth—even with Parachute deployment, descent might be too quick and using the engines can soften the landing and avoid concussions for the crew.
Retake control of ‘Command - Mars Descent craft’ pod and select dock in ‘Flight View’ to undock from mother ship. Use RCS translation mode to push away from mother ship.
Happy landing...your crew has been away from Earth for way too long.
