Black Arrow - Great Britain's first, and only, independently developed launch vehicle. It was only launched successfully once, bringing the Prospero satellite to Low Earth Orbit, where it resides to this day. The project was killed by the British politicians of the time, which later turned out to be a big mistake, as it was calculated that later versions of the launcher could've been profitable. It achieved many firsts in rocketry, most notable of which is the propellent choice: Kerosene and HTP (High Test Peroxide) allowing for more compact fuel tanks, and a smaller vehicle overall.
