RSS ONLY Falcon 9 ==> Launch your payload or land the booster.

V1.1 Starlink HERE

Vizzy contains accurate SpaceX style Starlink launch and land profile. Launch your payloads to precise LEO orbits. However beware: launch anomalies might occur!

V1.0: dummy payload, use with 15.0 - 17.4T payloads, LEO orbits

  • Use with Hypatch's new RSS
  • Ignore the warning messages when loading the game
  • Small script bug: first input required is target initial launch altitude

Features:

  • Realistic mass & engine performance
  • Multiple launch camera scenarios
  • Random minor or major issues can occur that can lead to a scrub or even a failure requiring FTS activation! Default anomaly rate 21%
  • Checks for engine health before commanding release of the launch clamps (automatic/manual launch abort) & manual Flight Termination System
  • Flight computer keeps craft within AoA restrictions in the atmosphere. Expect damage if you exceed these.
  • Smooth throttling, accurate g-limiter and minimum throttle protection
  • Accurate launch profile, SpaceX style by calculating an iterative profile that only decreases pitch (no sudden pitchup when circularizing) and uses a descending trajectory when necessary
  • Accurate, fuel efficient orbital insertion, two types of payload release methods and a deorbit burn
  • MECO calculated to target drone ship
  • Accurate booster pitchover with custom realistic RCS script (works best with mod AngularDragKiller)
  • Entry burn, including the pre-burn orienting maneuver, atmospheric guidance and booster landing, with varying atmospheric turbulence conditions. No gyro cheating here!
  • Drone ship including vizzy script to easily place it at the right spot!

Caution: speeding up time —> chance of messing up launch (PIDS require minimum 20 fps). At critical moments time will be set back to normal, but this is not 100% reliable.

There are currently 2 methods of orbital insertion:
1. Initial launch altitude of <200 km: a second Stage 2 burn will raise perigee >200 km.
2. Initial launch altitude of >= 200 km will be completed with only one S2 burn.

Additionally, the first stage booster has a low energy launch profile for initial launch altitudes <175 km and a high energy profile for 175 km and above. Drone ship distance is adjusted automatically when placing the drone ship through the vizzy.

Drone ship landings: To place the drone ship at the correct location, start the drone ship at your rocket launch location and the vizzy will tell you what to do. Alternatively launch the rocket, follow the booster until touchdown. Save the location and place your drone ship there. Set water physics to medium for drone ship landings! Also, it's nice to increase physics distance in settings.xml.

Starlink launch profiles have orbital altitudes that typically look like either:
* 167x305km, second burn to 318x305
* 235x336km, direct orbital insertion

    I have done a lot of testing but can only cover a range of scenarios, so I am interested in getting your feedback:

    1. Did you get a nominal orbit insertion message after completing the launch? If not, please send me a screenshot with the local log data.
    2. Did it actually properly land on the drone ship?

    What an absolute masterpiece! I was confused with how much pop-ups there were but as soon as I found out it auto does grid fins and it auto does everything for you then this thing is an absolute blast! Please hear me out whoever created this project or craft.. or rocket. Thanks!

    @destinymcelhinney Did you try v1.2 link?
    Follow instructions on screen, don't try to launch yourself.

    @Pumba1 did you try v1.1? It should have a more stable trajectory. Although I have seen issues on mobile, pc is fine. Fps needs to be good.

    @Bluestaf could be:
    1. Low fps issue: press pause in the loading screen so it has time to settle. When everything is loaded you can unpause. Or buy a new pc.
    2. Is it RSS 1.6?

    when i try to launch it something separates the launch pad from the rocket and before i can enter all the flight details the rocket is already half blown up on the ground

    @Dooiereier thanks for your support, i found the issue, it was because i was running a slightly older version of the sim

    @Aquaflames4571 then I can’t help you. Just buy the game, that avoids encountering these issues.
