Mars Climate Orbiter was a failed mission to Mars to check the climate on Mars and also relay Mars Polar Lander. One orbiter was the one to do most of MCO's objectives, Check the weather and climate (I think) and also aerobrake. Mars Odyssey was built like Mars Climate Orbiter but had some changes like having a radar for it to see some features of the surface of Mars. The Mars Climate Orbiter should've relayed some rovers and landers but it didn't. It entered Mars with the closest approach being too low for a survivable orbit and it burned up in the atmosphere. It was the orbiter and the 1 of the 2 missions in the Mars Surveyor '98 Program, the other one would be Mars Polar Lander with Deep Space 2 probes. They failed too. Also you can use it if you're replicating the mission like me or do the thing it should've done. Also just use RCS for course corrections of the trajectory to Mars when on a cruise to Mars. It's vizzy controlled so if you want manual control, don't press Launch Sequence.

@CedandRossSpaceAgency Is it possible I could show your craft in a future video? I will be sure to give credit where it is due.

If it's not good though, I will try to go to opposite direction if too far and fire the RCS.

I know so I check if it's trajectory is good and on the right direction then I turn off translation mode.

but you can’t use translation without not looking at the map,
the joysticks turn off when you open the map which is disappointing -

@FriendlyFin That's true but I was talking about if you are on deep space and your orbit isn't exactly going to the SOI of Mars, you can use RCS. Slow, but guaranteed to not make too far errors and take the trajectory to somewhere else.

This craft has proven something, It's that you can save kerolox fuel and make trajectory corrections using RCS on a cruise to some planets.

@Beeflao I don't exactly think so
