Small Lander Probe Designed to Obtain Detailed Pictures of the Neighboring Red Planet
It really is a simple Lander designed for the simplest task, it comes in Sky Crane configuration (without Rover) since it is also a test ship on powered landings
The AG's are named, the camera is operated with slider 4, the landing legs with slider 1 (need to keep it at 100% due to proximity radar), slider 2 is for the antennas and slider 3 is for the pitch of the main communications antenna.
It is advisable to Open the perachutes at a range of 17 to 12 kilometers and start the powered descent in a height range of 2 to 1.5 kilometers, due to the propulsion time.
Still the parachutes manage to slow down enough to descend smoothly.

Hey, is anybody there? Why is it that when the parachute is about to land, the parachute opens and the thruster won't open?

The parachutes are activated at the same time that the capsule jettison the aeroshell but it will depend on the proximity to the surface to activate the motors to descend smoothly, the stages come in the order planned to descend correctly, if it doesn't work, maybe you misconfigured the engines (in case you have edited the construction) I am not responsible for those modifications. Also, if you don't have practice with descents you surely crash.
There is an extra stage to jettison the fairing, precisely to prevent the probe from anchoring to the capsule and crashing, it must be activated before releasing the probe, but the engines need to be activated previously to start the powered descent.
