The Delta IV Heavy is a space launch vehicle that was flown from 2004-2024. Originally, the Delta IV Heavy was operated by the US Air Force, but starting in 2007, it was operated by ULA. The Delta IV had many different configurations, but this craft is based on the Delta IV Heavy. Its first stage is a CBC (Common Booster Core) and it uses one RS-68A engine. The second stage is a DCSS (Delta Cryogenic Second Stage) and it uses one RL10B-2 engine. Also, 2 additional CBCs are attached to the sides of the first stage to serve as boosters. The fairing is mounted on top of the second stage, and the payload sits inside the fairing.
