J-6, NATO code name: Farmer, fighter jet, is a single-seat twin-engine supersonic jet fighter developed by China's Shenyang Aircraft Manufacturing Industry Corporation in the 1960s.
The aircraft is mainly used for homeland air defense and to seize local air superiority on the front line, and it can also perform certain ground attack tasks. The aircraft is an air fighter fighter imitated and developed by China based on the former Soviet MiG-19. It was developed in early 1958 and put into batch production in 1960. In 1964, the first batch of J-6 fighter jets were delivered to the Chinese Air Force. Production was discontinued in 1983, and a total of 5,205 aircraft.
The J-6 is China's first supersonic fighter. It was the first-generation Chinese-made jet fighter with the largest number of PLA Air Force and Naval Air Force equipment, the longest service time and the most brilliant results.
