Meet the An-77X "Yastrub-X", the experimental prototype of the upcoming An-77 "Yastrub" (Ukrainian for "Hawk"). This jet pushes the boundaries of supermaneuverability—capable of 90°+ AOA and insane turn rates—all achieved without thrust vectoring.
Why This Jet Stands Out:
While browsing the Juno: New Origins crafts page, I found no other plane that can pull high-AOA without becoming unstable or breaking control surfaces. Since Juno’s engines don’t support thrust vectoring, I decided to build a solution using advanced control surface tuning.
I even tested the NOZZLES mod by MOPCKOEDNISHE, but its a bit complicated to introduce roll controls. After hours of tuning in a corner of my house (seriously!), here’s the An-77X—an experimental beast that breaks all limits.
An-77X Prototype Features:
Supermaneuvrability: Achieves and maintains 90°+ AOA, even 32 m/s at 32° AOA without stalling.
Insane Turn Rates:
45°/s (AG4 OFF – Normal Mode, AOA limiter on)
90°/s (AG4 ON – High-AOA Mode)
180°/s—extreme flat-spin recovery and rapid deceleration.
Short Landing: Lands at 30 m/s with 25° AOA, stopping in 3 seconds.
Cobra & Super Cobra: Pulls Cobra maneuvers and even Super Cobra (if Juno had aircraft carriers 👀).
Controls & Activation Groups:
AG4 – Disable AOA Limiter: Activates extra pitch rotors on canards and elevators for 90°+ AOA.
Pro Tip: For cleaner Cobras, tap the pitch up binding for maybe >1sec or in joystick pull back gently little bit—holding too long may cause a 180° flip due to extreme AOA and sometimes loss of control.
Prototype Warnings:
Unstable at Extreme AOA: Holding AG4 for too long can cause a 180° flip. Use light inputs for better control.
It’s Not Perfect: This is the prototype—I’m still working on smoother handling and better stability.
