This is an upgraded version of the original Ceres ULD (Ugly Lawn Dart). It's been upgraded with a Twin Outboard Engine (TOE) system.
I've been using this for all of the Air Races contracts, including the DSC Air Race (which is an exercise in frustration).
With the TOE Fighter upgrade, Ceres can reach speeds of up to 1.9 Mach. Both the main engine and outboard engines can be turned on and off individually through the AGs, as well as the generator mounted just behind the cockpit (provides power to run the thrust vectors).
The TOE Fighter upgrade includes thrust vectoring for all three engines, all for the low. low price of 28 parts (plus 3 labels). While I think she's pretty darn maneuverable for a supersonic jet, let's not forget the lineage of supersonic jets - they're meant to go fast, not fly goofy hangar obstacle courses. In the famous words of Montgomery Scott, "ye cannae change the laws o' physics."
While I did run the DSC Air Race twice with this, I did it on 20x slo-mo. Be warned that she does not handle well below about 200 m/s and can become unstable on the turns. While she can hack the DSC race, if you're flying below 200 m/s you'll probably crater a lot and get frustrated. She's a jet, treat her like one. You've been warned.
Also, you probably won't have Capt Juliet "Shakespeare" Pruitt in your sandbox, but the nameplate is there to give your pilot their own callsign and personalize their jet.
