Behold, the ugliest rocket ever made! This afront to the lord was concived in the late 90s for the COTS program. Which makes this a competitor to Falcon 9 if you can believe it. Powered by 3 AJ26s on the first stage and another on the second. The reason it looks like a worn down pencil is because a feature of the K-1 was that it could be optimized for crew, cargo, and other payloads with an almost nosecone like heat shield (not modeled because I couldn’t be bothered), as this was also reusable. The K-1 was all but dead by 2007, as NASA had cut contracts in favor of things like Dragon and Dreamchaser. Kistler Aerospace would close its doors by 2010.
