old version for those who want to check it out since the auto-credit doesn't recognize it
NOTE: WILL NOT WORK ON 1.0+!
This was made long before the career mode update came, many of its features are outdated and will not work in newer versions. I am working on a new version of the SV80, however!
So, after a while of messing around and stuff, here's the previous one but better.
What's changed? Well, here you go:
Some visual and performance alterations
The nose is a bit longer, and weight has been increased to 775 kg to prevent some bugs in denser atmospheres. The autopilot control thing or whatever has also been retuned, though the craft is still too insane for it to handle.
Not "truly" infinite fuel, but close enough!
Also, the fuel tanks are more compact (only taking up 1 block per tank) thanks to external XML editing, meaning you'll likely never run out with these things unless you have luck exceeding god tier levels. Now for the fun parts...
HYPERSPEED
Arrivederci! The "Boost Engines" on the old one have been replaced with the Hyperspeed warp-boost drive that is also in the Zenith canon storyline... again, that is way too long to explain it normally in a description here. You can easily get to more than 2000 km/s in only about 2 or 3 seconds, But that's nothing, because there's more insanity...
ULTRA-HYPERSPEED
Light speed is for noobs in this game (but definitely not in real life), so of course i decided to went complete bonkers and slap the Ultra-Hyperspeed on the SV80 too, capable of easily travelling between stars. No more suffering with difficult systems, just slap the throttle and say Adios to everything behind you.
VISUAL EFFECTS?
You've seen it on the first picture. I added re-entry-like heat (using a kerolox engine) and a sonic boom effect (using a hydrolox engine) to the plane to make it more interesting. However, these are still powered engines and will still make it accelerate, so if you don't want that simply turn their AG off. -> Fixed in newer version thanks to XML!
Now for the controls.
You'll get standard aircraft controls as usual, and all AG's are labeled, but i'll repeat them here for those who just wanna take a look.
Slider 1: Controls the power applied to the landing gear wheels. Might be broken sometimes.
AG1: Vacuum engines. Powerful and with thrust vectoring, you can also use this to travel quickly in some atmospheres, but it does have a lot of lag. -> Much more powerful and responsive in newest version thanks to XML!
AG2: Infinite fuel engines. XML modded to have zero fuel consumption, but with less thrust, useful for more precise control - this isn't completely mine, however i did edit some specs, so credits to the original creator(s?) still apply.
AG3: Atmospheric engines. Suffers from a long spool up time but they are very quick if in a atmosphere with density around 0.1 to 2 kg/m^3.
AG4: Hyperspeed. Careful with the throttle, or you'll go flying out the solar system.
AG5: Lights. These reach to like 100000 meters, mainly so that you can see when landing on a planetary body where the creator forgot to adjust the ambient light so you can actually see, but keeping in with the theme they are blue, just so you know. -> Now white in newest version, no more decieved eyes!
AG6: Parachute. Use for slowing down while going fast. Not reccommended above 5 kg/m^3 since it can cause bugs. -> WILL NOT WORK DUE TO LEGACY PARACHUTES, PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD
AG7: Thrust reverser for the atmospheric engines.
AG8: Landing gear. Retracts and extends very quickly so you can land normally in case you forgotto put them down.
AG9: RCS. Alternative to the gyroscope, it can also be used as a speed boost with translation mode + translate forwards.
AG10: Gyroscope. Used for rotating quickly.
AG11: Special velocity-based effects. Reccommend disabling if the speed gain mentioned above bothers you. -> Fixed in newest version!
AG12: Ultra-Hyperspeed. Gets you from star to star in no time.

@Zenithspeed from my experience, the wobbly tail affects the horizontal movement too. Maybe adding some small fins about 35 degrees down on the tail could compensate for the lost manoeuvrability but idk

@XRS2200 it needs an all-moving tail though, it's thevonly way i can have both good maneuverability and speed in one package
the issue is only with horizontal movement, not vertical -

@Zenithspeed i saw there were rotators on the back wings, maybe that’s the problem. I have this rlly annoying issue in so many planes where the control system just wants to oscillate the plane for NO GODDAMN REASON and it keeps flapping like a bird and it makes it so hard to control/land the plane. Not just ur build, this happens on most planes, but the issue tends to be the rotators. Get rid of them and it might work? Idk tho, im not too good lol

@XRS2200 it already had an OP gyro since the very beginning
for whatever reason the vertical stabilizers decided to just not work, and no matter if i add one or reconfigure any existing ones, they refuse to do anything, so now it just drifts everywhere (which, yes, is cool, but it's not what i want -

@Zenithspeed an even crazier one? Hell yeah! For the side slip issue, maybe add some rlly powerful gyros or smth idk lol
-
26.8k Zenithspeed
@XRS2200 yeah uhhhh about that
this is a ridicilously old version and the new one is even wilder lmao
right now though it has side slip issues that i don't know how to correct so for now i can't post the new one publicly -

What kind of “illicit substances” did you feed this thing bro i almost jumped outta my skin when i saw the TWR. 2 secs w/ atmo engines is enough to get me to escape velocity lmao. All jokes aside, great work! :)

@kaijuparadisefan19 don't worry, the hyperspeed is intentional, it's meant to be that crazy, though this is really old so it might not work as intended
-
@Zenithspeed uh im new also i downloaded your craft and it gets into like SUPER-DUPER-HYPERSPEED and just goes out of the solar system with 198183+ mm (and i used mod to download this game pls dont ban me)

@HyperNovaAerospace i'm really not
really, my building & flying skills are all trash, and most of the stuff i make is usually a derivative of some crap that was either an old creation of mine, some other thing that i got inspiration from, or just something that i straight up plagiarised and modified to fit my needs -
-
26.8k Zenithspeed
@HyperNovaAerospace this is literally made by me, of course i'm gonna reply
-
26.8k Zenithspeed
@HyperNovaAerospace this is an old version so it likely won't work, but i am making a new version that will work in 1.2

if you know how to manage Hyperspeed correctly, then basically yes

pretty sure i forgot to remove the vizzy notifier script which doesn't work, just ignore that for now
