Hermes cannot land from Luna orbit alone, it needs a supporting stage to have enough fuel to land!
Hermes is a small self contained lander based on the Common Landing Platform, It lands on 18 small monopropellant engines and descends on a larger engine using the same propellant.
Hermes is often integrated with the Luna Transfer stage known as Luna-Hermes giving it an almost guaranteed landing every time.
The Common Landing Platform gives Hermes immense power generation capabilities in the daytime for even the most power hungry commercial payloads.
The lander is also equipped with several high quality cameras for both payload observation and almost real time anomaly diagnosis and repair!
