Based on the mercury redstone 1, which only flew 4 inches off the pad before “it shut itself down and settled back on the pad, after which the capsule jettisoned its escape rocket and deployed its recovery parachutes.” According to Wikipedia. There are some inaccuracies (mostly with the engine) because i couldn’t find much about it because it’s overshadowed by mercury redstone 2
