"... Like I've said, it is NOT a bomber. Just because it used data from a previous bomber project does not mean it IS a bomber."
"... so why does it have such a small RCS that you have to add repeaters?"
"..."
"..."
".. good question. I will ignore it."
The solution to our ever growing smaller fleet of obselete cargo aircrafts and renewed interests in space operations has lead the Aerotech Divison to build a brand new aircraft from the ground up, focusing on one key point: High payload capacity. Said solution is already in front of you: the XC-1.
The XC-1 is built on the concept of Lifting Bodies, a type of aircraft that has its fuselage also generate lift. Utilizing the experience in creating an unrelated bomber project, we gave it a new life in the form of heavy, outsize cargo carriers. It also benefitted from the MR-1A program, integrating its Autopilot System* into the avionics of the aircraft.
The internal cargo bay is fitted with overhead tracks for easy cargo egress and ingress along with kneeling* to facilitate on-ground operations. Both pilots and cargo handlers have sycnronized actuator panels in their respective stations to quickly and visually know what the two are doing, especially in Air Drop operations, which are standard in nearly all cargo aircrafts.
The real specialty of the XC-1 is the Integrated External Payload Points facilitating Outsize cargo such as fully built spacecrafts, rockets, or even other aircrafts (Outsize cargo not included) utilizing custom attachment points to easily mate with the internal structure of the craft. The twin tail is even made lower than our current cargo aircraft to better minimize the chance of tailstrikes from aerial release. The main limiting factor of the size will only depend on the landing gear of the XC-1 and the way the outsize cargo would be lifted to or from the plane.
*see Activation Groups for more details
Note : optimized for high to ultra physics update frequency. Anything lower may result to manifestation of a Class 3 type Ia incident/accident(low reality, structural body compromising event)
aka kraken manifestation aka landing gear blowing up by spaghettification
Controls:
Standard Aircraft Controls
Slider 1: Flaperons
Slider 2: Trim
Slider 3: Cargo Ramp
Activation Groups:
AG1: Gear Kneeling
AG2: (free space)
AG3: (free space)
AG4: Autopilot (well, kinda... again)
AG5,6,7: Cargo Bay Lights
AG8: Landing Gear
AG9: Navigation and Landing Lights
AG10: Engines
"... Though I admit, If you would want a stealth bomber, this would be a great place to start... but we already established that it is not. Trust us.
... unless you would consider pushing nukes out its tail to be a bomber, then it would mean ALL cargo aircrafts are nuke bombers too..."
"..."
"... wait they did drop a ballistic missile from a C-5 before right?"

@Captainbob2198 It seems to be a new problem after the recent updates. When this was first uploaded, no such issues were experienced.
I’ll try to upload a fix but from testing with another plane with the same issue, I am stuck.

Just FYI to everyone who decided to turn on afterburners, don’t take this thing over 400m/s because the control surfaces start falling off. Also, is there any fix for the exploding landing gear problem?

Also does not look practical but is sooo practical!
Also congrats winning the challenge! -

You might have your physics update on low or medium @DE. I have tested mine on ultra but high is fine on no cargo load.

And you really show that a nice craft can have just few parts (less than 1000)

This plane has a very cool militaristic exterior.
I would rate it 100/10 -

@emexfire it should be the gear looking icon when you pause the game. Its under quality then physics

@ColonelStriker how do I set my setting to ultra update frequency settings
-

@emexfire what physics setting are you using? It typically blows up for me at low and medium update frequency setting.
All testing I’ve made are in ultra update frequency setting.

@DiamondModerator Thats actually one of the main reasons I built this plane (well the overall looks at least) as it was originally not a large cargo aircraft as I would install about 4 lift fans I’ve used in my MRH-1. But when I saw the challenge, I repurposed it for a heavy lifter which essentially meant larger wings and longer and wider cargo bay.
The lift fans would have been at the wing tips and forward of the jet inlet with grated inlets like the Westland project zero and XV-5 respectively.
I might actually do one in the future. I’ll take a week break for now before building stuff again

Your winning the competition for sure, this thing looks too good 😳

@ColonelStriker I fixed the problem but I had to rebuild it, and by that I mean that I just put in the vanilla landing gear assemblies
