The Activation Group controls the hold down arms on the launch pad. Use Slider 1 and pull the bar down just before starting the engines. Don't be concerned about placing the satellite in anything resembling a clean, circular orbit. The Russians didn't. The first 2 Sputnicks followed highly elliptocal orbits that decayed in about 6 months.
